Post MDS Permanent Role - Assistant Production Manager - Flavourfresh Ltd
MDS EXPERIENCE:
Assistant Pack house Manager, FlavourFresh Salads, May 2009 - November 2009
- Manage all aspects of production, planning and updating the day’s production dependant upon orders, and making sure that they are present and correct
- Take over stock control and ordering of fruit, packaging, trays and pallets
- Develop a full understanding of the wages and invoicing
- Cover all transport with WCF and Iceland and understand the full logistic system
- Have the ability to cover the complete running of the business
- Develop and improve on everything learnt in my first secondment
Procurement and Logistics Co-ordinator , Riverford Organics, June 2008 - Present
- Assess, plan and launch a choice box offer to Riverford customers, allowing customers to have the option to select likes and dislikes such that they will only receive products which they are going to eat. This project looks into all aspects of the chain including Production, Website Design, IT, Packaging, Procurement, Despatch and Franchisee delivery
- Compile the monthly extras lists checking for price, product and weight anomalies so products are in line with current market prices and all farms are offering the same product ranges. If problems are found it is important that suggestions are made a week before the newsletter goes to print
- Assess the weekly offers from suppliers and identify how much they varied on a weekly basis, and identify whether offering an average cost price for a product during the season would be more feasible
Project Manager, Chingford Fruit Packers Ltd, June 2008 - Nov 2008
- Looked after the store claim process to eliminate incorrect claims. This involved contacting the store to elaborate on the information they had given us, and investigate what was wrong with the quality of the fruit or why the store believed they were unable to sell the product supplied
- Managed the box end changeover process, which involved working closely with international suppliers and identifying whether the box ends would scan in depot with all the correct information flagging up. This was a vitally important task, as without the box ends working Sainsbury’s could reject whole pallets; this would also be a new system in place for invoicing suppliers
- Helping the citrus technical manager look into alternatives to pesticides, and produce literature of any information that had been found to show customers we were meeting their requests to look into alternatives
- Helped with the general running of the office and assisted the technical managers as and when necessary, so they could complete their tasks. This ranged from research topics, looking into the quality of fruit, conducting a variety of tests on fruit to see how it will cope in normal store conditions, and also various other tasks
Pack house Supervisor, FlavourFresh Salads, Nov 2007 - May 2008
Originally joined FlavourFresh for quality control but progressed to assistant pack house manager. Assisted in the daily running of the pack house, by dealing with the many staff to guarantee they are meeting deadlines and orders from the supermarkets we supplied
- Responsibility of running the pack house on a Saturday (once every 3 weeks), which mainly involved controlling every aspect of the working environment without the support of other higher management
- Conducted a productivity analysis to identify areas that could be improved, to save money on staffing, and distinguish the possibilities of improving efficiency and down time
- Whilst working at FlavourFresh I also worked with various other parts of the company to gain a greater knowledge of managing the business and running a successful pack house. Below are the areas I have worked in:
- Quality Control, Stock Control, Transport and Logistics and Order receiving and invoicing
