Job Description

Main Purpose

The Growing production manager will play a pivotal role in day-to-day operations of Double H Nurseries. They will oversee all growing operations, ensuring exceptional quality of output while maintaining efficiencies and H&S standards.

People: Lead and develop the Growing Operations team

Product: Achieve required production to meet daily service level and quality requirements within budget

Basic Tasks

· Mentor and lead your team to ensure short-term and long-term objectives are achieved

· Promote and lead a continuous improvement culture, setting performance improvement targets and encouraging change

· Plan resources and capabilities to meet the business plan

· Facilitate and promote cross departmental working

· Ensure operating costs are identified and efficiently managed

· Monitor and analyse growing efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implement corrective actions

· Celebrate good performance

· Develop a positive work environment, promoting skill development and career growth

· Set high standards of housekeeping and quality

Responsibilities

People: Growing Operations Team

Functions: Potting, Spacing, Staking & Grading

Equipment: Maintenance of growing equipment and machinery using preventative servicing to minimise downtime. Renewal of equipment that is no longer serviceable

Health and Safety: Safe and Legal operation of the site and equipment to meet audit requirements
