Agritechnica 2025: Innovation at Scale and a Glimpse of What’s Next

In November, I had the opportunity to attend Agritechnica 2025 with Syngenta, and it proved to be one of the most insightful and inspiring agricultural events I’ve experienced. What I found was not just a trade show, but a global meeting point for modern agriculture: a vast, fast-moving snapshot of where the industry stands and where it’s heading.

Held every two years in Hannover, Germany, Agritechnica is the world’s largest agricultural exhibition, drawing together equipment manufacturers, technology innovators, researchers, agribusiness leaders and growers from every corner of the globe.

This year alone, it welcomed 2,849 exhibitors from 52 countries and approximately 476,000 visitors from 171 nations. The density, energy and diversity of voices created an atmosphere that felt equal parts overwhelming and electrifying.

Syngenta at Agritechnica

At the heart of my experience was the Syngenta booth, where the focus was firmly on Cropwise innovations. Cropwise, Syngenta’s digital farming platform, is designed to support smarter, data-driven decision-making for growers, and this was the perfect setting to bring it to life.

Over two packed days, my team hosted some of our largest customers from around the world (Brazil, Canada, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Romania, Serbia and the UAE) showcasing the breadth of Syngenta’s offerings and how our tools drive efficiency, profitability and sustainability in real-world farming systems.

We held live sessions at our booth which explored multiple Cropwise capabilities, Spray Assist technology and Nutrient Use Efficiency through our advanced biologicals portfolio. These conversations moved beyond product demonstrations; they became genuine exchanges about how farming is evolving, how challenges are shifting, and what tools are truly making a difference on the ground.

The opportunity to connect with some of the leading drivers in our industry was hugely beneficial to my development, and I’m sincerely grateful to Syngenta for the trust and opportunity to be part of this experience.

The focus of the show

Step away from the Syngenta stand and Agritechnica opened up even further. The wider exhibition painted a clear picture of an industry in transition. Digitalisation, intelligent control systems and smart efficiency were everywhere, shaping the machinery and workflows of the future. Electric and hybrid powertrains, autonomy, robotics and increasingly global manufacturers all signalled a sector embracing transformation, even in the face of tight margins and uncertain markets.

Despite the constant challenges many farmers are currently face, the overall mood was positive. Conversations felt grounded, practical and forward-looking. There was less blind optimism and more quiet determination – a collective readiness to adapt and prepare for what lies ahead.

The Future

What stayed with me most, however, was the sheer magnitude of innovation. From established industry giants to ambitious startups, the volume of cutting-edge ideas on display was a powerful reminder of how dynamic this industry really is. To witness that level of creativity and resilience in one place was genuinely inspiring.

Agritechnica showed me that agriculture is not standing still. It is evolving rapidly, thoughtfully, and with intent. And while the challenges ahead are undeniable, the energy, ingenuity and collaboration on display made one thing clear: the future of farming is already taking shape, and it’s being built by people who care deeply about getting it right.
