MDS Celebrates Anniversary Ball

MDS Celebrates Anniversary with largest ever Ball

It was a night to remember, a celebration of dedication, unwavering commitment to the agri-food and horticultural supply chain and all of the hard work that goes into our fantastic industry.

On behalf of our team, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to everyone who attended our anniversary ball. It was an unforgettable night filled with laughter, fun, and a sense of community that we will treasure for a long time, a testament to the success of our Members, Trainees and Alumni and a well-deserved recognition of their achievements over the last 37 years.

We had over 240 guests from industry giants, celebrities, changemakers, Members, Trainees, and Alumni from across the globe. Your presence made our event truly special, and we are grateful for the time taken and effort made to join us. We hope all of our guests had a wonderful time, met some new friends, and enjoyed the inspiring speech on resilience in farming from the Red Shepherdess. Hannah Jackson, the Red Shepherdess, gave an inspiring speech on the power of resilience in farming and life. Her story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the importance of never giving up. Through all the hardships and obstacles she faced, she never lost sight of her passion for farming and her love for the land. Her message reminds us that no matter how tough the road may be, with determination, perseverance, and a bit of grit, we can overcome anything. Let’s all strive to be a little more resilient in our own lives, just like the Red Shepherdess.

A busy evening

The night began with arrival drinks followed by a gorgeous 3-course meal. The later part of the evening was kicked off with an energetic performance from 5-piece funk and soul band, Clique, which got everyone on the dance floor. In addition to the music, there were also enjoyable casino tables that offered an opportunity for guests to try their luck and win. The tables were a huge hit, and people had a great time playing and socialising with each other.

Coming together for a good cause

The Ball was not just about having a good time but was an opportunity to give back to the industry. Via our silent auction, guests were able to bid on some fantastic prizes, with the proceeds going to charity. The auction featured various prizes that were donated by kind supporters. The winners went home with amazing prizes while contributing to a noble cause. It was heartwarming to see people come together and support our chosen charities.

We are thrilled to announce that we were able to raise over £950 for YANA and Yellow Wellies, two incredible organisations that support mental health and well-being in the farming industry. This was made possible by the brilliant prizes offered by Moor Farm Peterborough, Aldi, Victoria House Tea Room, Ginger Horticulture, Brewdog, and Finsbury Food Group. We cannot thank these organisations enough for their generous donations and support.

Sponsors and Supporters

We are also thrilled to extend our gratitude to JDM food group for their generous support in sponsoring our menus and programmes. We appreciate their support and we are proud to be working alongside a company that shares our values. Thank you, JDM food group, for your contribution.

It was an added bonus to have Max MacGillivray from Beanstalk Global at the MDS ball, who kindly captured some fantastic photos of the event.

We would also like to express our appreciation to the hardworking team who helped make the event a success. Their dedication and professionalism ensured that everything ran smoothly, from the delicious food and drinks to the fantastic entertainment.

Finally, we want to thank each and every one of you for your support and contributions to our anniversary ball. Your presence and generosity made it possible for us to achieve our fundraising goals and support these valuable causes.

We hope you had a memorable night, and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.
